Situated in the eastern part of the park, Ruhija gorilla sector sits at slightly higher altitude compared to other tracking spots. This means its weather conditions are always averagely okay. Compared to Buhoma, many visitors often praise Ruhija as more isolated. The tracking region shelters some of the most sought-after gorilla families like Kyaguliro, and Mubare gorilla families.
The Ruhija terrain is without question steeper and demands high levels of fitness, but the spot offers the clearest open views of the surrounding area. Rushaga has for so long been less active until recent years. Situated in the southern part of the majestic park, Rushaga is one of the most easily accessed gorilla sectors. The gorilla sector is smooth for shorter hikes, and the trekking experience is usually less challenging. Nkuringo gorilla sector.
Compared to all the other 3 gorilla tracking regions, Nkuringo is the most isolated gorilla sector, and is situated in the southern part of the park. The visitor’s choice of gorilla sector should largely depend on their fitness levels, accommodation options and how visitors plan to execute the rest of other tourism activities. It is important to note that all gorilla sectors run on the same rules like visitors limited to 8 members in a group, spending only one full hour with the gorillas, and not eating around the primates.
