Overview
Embarking on the 8 Days Uganda safari tour allows you to experience the best of Bwindi gorilla trekking and many other adventures in different destinations. Expect to penetrate the lush Kibale Forest during the guided chimpanzee tracking and also Bigodi Wetland on a nature walk. This package also combines game drives and boat tours at Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Batwa cultural experience and Lake Bunyonyi will be your excellent spice up on this captivating safari tour.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival for a safari and drive to a hotel
This day is set aside purposely to let you take a flight to Entebbe Airport in Uganda. From the airport, you will be taken to the hotel for relaxation and expect the first briefing from the company representative.
Day 2: Drive to Kibale
Pick up from the hotel in Entebbe and today, expect to drive through Mityana-Fort Portal in order to reach Kibale National Park. Access to Kibale will take at least 5-6 hours and comes with sweeping views of the countryside, tea farms, and crater lakes. Once you have reached Fort Portal, expect to connect to the restaurant to be provided with a delicious lunch. Drive out of Fort Portal city to your respective lodges in/near Kibale National Park.
Day 3: Experience Kibale chimp trek & swamp walk in Bigodi
Get a hefty breakfast before you proceed to the Kanyanchu tourism centre to clear and also join the briefing session. The trek with Kibale chimps will extend for at least 2 to 4 hours, a session that will get you one hour just for observing chimpanzees and taking photos. After the interactive session with Kibale chimpanzees, you will get back to have lunch and a short relaxation.
From the lodge, drive to Bigodi, a wetland sanctuary with diverse primates and birdlife. Enjoy a 2-hour nature walk in Bigodi with a chance to spot lots of red-tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys, and baboons.
Day 4: Visit Kikorongo & Queen Elizabeth NP
Check out, and today’s schedule is mainly dedicated to you to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive via Kasese to take in amazing views of the crater lakes, and after crossing Kasese, head to Kikorongo Equator monument site. Continue to the game safari lodge for relaxation, lunch, and after, depart for the Kazinga Channel boat experience.
Day 5: Game drives (both morning & afternoon).
Expect an extensive day of game drives starting with the sunrise session. All the game drive sessions will involve exploring the Kasenyi track and encountering the park’s abundant wildlife, including Uganda Kobs, buffalo, elephants, and lions. Resume with the afternoon game drive after you have enjoyed lunch at the lodge.
Day 6: Visit Ishasha & Continue to Bigodi
Transfer to Ishasha in the morning and expect to have another game drive session. The Ishasha game drive won’t be long, and the purpose is to let you search for the sector’s unique tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, you will be transferred straight to Bwindi.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking & Batwa/Lake Bunyonyi
After having a heavy breakfast, you will join the park officials for an orientation and verification exercise. Once you have been assigned the park ranger guide and gorilla groups, expect to begin the trek with the mountain gorillas.
Today’s trek with Bwindi gorillas may run for at least 2-6 hours, including one hour of observing at a safe distance of 10m. In the afternoon, you may decide to have the Batwa community or transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for afternoon relaxation.
Day 8: Return to Entebbe –About 6hrs
After breakfast, start the morning with a sunrise boat ride –for visitors who traveled to Lake Bunyonyi. The guests who remain at Bwindi will only check out and begin their journeys to Entebbe.
